Nominate someone you know for one of our CFC International Community Awards, to be announced at our conference in Orlando, July 24-27.

In 2019, we began recognizing the amazing community that makes our mission possible…

In 2022, we are accepting nominations for outstanding people, businesses, organizations, or groups that exemplify what it means to improve the quality of life for individuals with CFC syndrome and their families.

If you know someone that should be nominated, submit their nomination before June 15, 2022.

Awards will be presented at the 2022 CFC International Family Medical Conference in Irvine, California. The event will be in-person and virtual. Recipients unable to accept their award in-person will be celebrated at the event, and the plaque will be mailed to them after the event.

Harley Melvin Profile in Courage Award:
Named after Harley Melvin, a child with CFC syndrome who passed away 9 years ago. This award is given to individuals with CFC syndrome (living or deceased) that have shown tremendous courage.

Brenda Conger Award for Mission Mavens: Named after our founder, this award is given to a parent(s) or caregiver(s) of an individual with CFC syndrome that has worked in the margins of their lives to advance awareness.

CFC International's Profile in Philanthropy: Awarded to a family/caregiver or individual of a CFC family that raised funds to impact our ability to provide better treatment, awareness or research.

Samantha Colleran Community Commitment Award: After becoming friends with a child diagnosed with CFC syndrome, Samantha Colleran began dedicating her time to raising money for CFC International when she was only 11 years old. Sam’s Walk-A-Thon raised thousands of dollars to help all families affected by CFC syndrome. This award is dedicated to a fundraiser not related to or caring for an individual with CFC syndrome.

Giovanni Neri Award for Advancement of Research: Dr. Neri was instrumental in the discovery of the genes that cause CFC syndrome. This award is given to a medical professional/team that has made significant strides in CFC syndrome research.

Mary Ella Pierpont Award for Advancement of Treatment: The late Dr. Pierpont dedicated her life to creating better treatment and understanding of CFC syndrome and the Rasopathy Disorders. This award is presented to a medical professional or team
that has made significant improvements in treating individuals with CFC syndrome.
